Nina Dobrev was born January 9, 1989 in Sofia, Bulgaria. She moved to Canada at the age of two and has resided in Ontario since. Nina showed an enthusiasm for the arts at a very young age, eventually leading her to enroll in the Dean Armstrong Acting School where she was discovered by many different talent agencies. She started off modeling, which led to commercials which inevitably led to television and movies.

Nina was a studen at theWexford Collegiate School for the Arts in Toronto. She had recently started her post secondary studies at Ryerson University in Toronto, majoring in Sociology. She eventually dropped out in 2008 to pursue her acting career.

She currently resides in Canada and in Atlanta, Georigia where "The Vampire Diaries" is filmed.
